The Founders Day Festival in Dripping Springs, Texas’s the largest yearly community event. This three-day event commemorates the birth of the Dripping Springs town in 1850 and provides a range of family-friendly activities to foster community spirit and togetherness. The Grand Parade begins off the spring festival, which is followed by live music on two stages. There’s something for everyone here, including a carnival, cook-off events, and arts and crafts exhibitors. This event also hosts the country’s fifth-largest washer throwing contest.

Founders Day Tradition

For nearly 30 years, hundreds of people have come to downtown Dripping Springs for a spectacular celebration of heritage and pioneer spirit. The annual Founders Day Festival recognizes and celebrates the foundation of Dripping Springs by the Moss, Wallace, and Pound families. The three-day jubilee begins with a magnificent procession, followed by a carnival, arts and crafts, food and beverages, a barbeque cook-off, and some of the most incredible music from local bands.

FounderPromoting community and volunteerism, this event will begin on April 22th-24th, 2022. A lot is going on during this three-day celebration, but here are a few highlights you won’t want to miss at the Dripping Springs Founders Day Festival.

Founders Day Vendors

The Dripping Springs Founders Day Festival begins with the Grand Parade on Friday night. Return to downtown Dripping Springs, TX, on Saturday or Sunday and stroll along Mercer Street, where you can browse unique things from over 150 different merchants! Mercer Street will be home to several local artisans providing apparel, crafts, bespoke jewelry, and other handcrafted items. In addition to shopping, there will be food vendors, live music, and craft activities for children.

The Local festival is hosted by the City of Dripping Springs and the Founders Day Commission, including representatives from various community organizations. The Dripping Spring festival proceeds are donated back into the community and directly benefit local non-profit organizations, churches, school and park programs, youth groups, and charities.

Spend a day at the carnival to make it a weekend your kids will never forget! The Mighty Thomas Carnival will include popular rides such as a merry-go-round and a Ferris wheel. The Grand Dripping Springs Parade

The Grand Parade starts off the event on Friday, April 22nd, at 6:30 p.m. The procession will begin on Mercer Street and go through downtown Dripping Springs. This year’s theme is “Destination Drippin,” which will honor Dripping Springs, TX’s legacy. Arrive early and bring a lawn chair to watch the procession; limited bleacher seating will be available as well! Did we also mention that this event is free?
If you love candy – the parade is where you want to me. Most of the floats will toss out candy! Sometimes you get lucky and you can get a koozy from a float – which will come in handy since there will be lots to choose from when it comes to beverages.
Alot of the organization and businesses will have a float. You may spot a friend on a float if you live here. Dripping Springs takes great pride in the community and everyone loves to support and cheer on their local chapter, organization and business on a float.

Parking

Goodluck! Really – there will be shuttles and Home Depot will offer parking but – it will be seriously be very hard to find parking.

Handicap parking will be limited and in designated areas only : Located at the VFW Trailer Trailer Lot at the corner of Mercer/ Route 12 next to the Water Company. On Sat and Sun handicap parking will be Located the WSE/ New Administration Building at the Bus Parking Lot Located to in the south Lot of the building.

General Parking:
High School Complex / Parking lot – Shuttles will be provided
Old Walnut Springs Elementary – For parade participants only
